Hugo & Clemy Mosbacher in Amsterdam, 1942

Hugo & Clemy Mosbacher escaped from Germany to Holland where they were to depart for America on the S.S. Verdun on May 11, 1940.
Hitler invaded the Netherlands on May 10, 1940 and they were trapped in Amsterdam until February 3, 1943 when they were deported to Auschwitz, after being in Westerbork for two weeks. This photo was sent to their daughter, Rosi Mosbacher who had made her way to New York where she expected to meet up with her parents.
