Ernst A. emigrated to Holland in 1938 and managed to smuggle 100,000 Reichsmarks of his money illegally out of Berlin. After the Nazis invaded Holland, he was arrested and sent to Brandenburg Prison, and from there to Auschwitz. He died on 19.01.1943 in Auschwitz, not in 1941 as stated here.

His wife and two sons survived in Amsterdam in hiding. His third son Werner T. Angress was in the US Army and survived German POW captivity. He wrote a book about the experience ("Immer etwas abseits") and passed away in July 2010 in Berlin.
