Recently we got news that a most plausible identification of three passengers was done by making use of the second photo hereabove.
Man and woman with trench-coat and young girl beside them (facing towards camera) were Alexander von Marx and Ellen May with their daugther Vera Mathilde.
Ellen May was the daugther of Siegfried May and Roseline Fuld. May sr. was partner in the Amsterdam Jewish (pre-war) bank Lippmann, Rosenthal & Co. May sr and his wife committed suicide on 15 May 1940, when the Dutch army capitulated. Their daughter and son-in-law managed to reach the United States, shortly after the arrival in the UK.
Alexander and Ellen had two sons too, aged 12 and 14 in May 1940. It is very well possible, perhaps even likely, that they were also on board of Zeemanshoop and HMS Venomous, but just not captured on film.
