Jacob Drielsma was the son of Hessel Drielsma and Sara Markus. He married Clara deça Carança in Leeuwarden on 6 June 1903. She was the daughter of Jacob de la Carança and Rachel da Costa. The couple had two children: Hessel and one child that survived the war.
