Käthe Blumenthal

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.

Henriette Luise Blumenthal was an anatomic painter. Laurens de Rooy writes about her in his book on the Snijburcht.

Interestingly, Blumenthal continued to draw in Theresienstadt and some of her drawings survive in the Prague Jewish Museum. Lilly Pokorny, a radiologist, remembered that Blumenthal told her her daughter tried to jump from the train to Auschwitz, was injured, and sent to Auschwitz hur…
