Note that his name has been anglicised perhaps he managed to get a replacement document for his original Dutch one? By: Brian Winter

I recently visited my distant cousin's grave and discovered the following from the community in Lausanne.
Grave number 588, section D, row(?) 21 in the Old Cemetery there being a New one as well.

What is curious is that the stone is not like a usual one used for a Jewish grave and not only that is in surprisingly good condition considering it's 70 years old especially compared with others of the same age in the same cemetery see the one behind my cousin's grave for Jacqueline Cohen who died age 10 in the same year. I wonder if the stone is being maintained by someone? More questions than answers.

I am also wondering about the fate of others who died in Pompaples around the same date, were they murdered by the Nazis or Swiss collaborators or just die from exposure in the mountains? It's well known that the Swiss expelled many Jews seeking refuge from the Nazis, to their certain death either by exposure in the mountains or at the hands of the nazis if they managed to cross back into occupied France or to Germany.
