Berta Gerstl

Berta came to the Netherlands with the first Kindertransport from Vienna on December 11th, 1938. Afterbeing in quarantine in a school in the Copernicusstraat in The Hague she lived in Huize Overvoorde in the Hague, from where she went to the orphanage in The Hague in April 1939.
At first her mother stayed in Vienna, but her father was in Palestine (Rechovot). Later on her mother also managed to make it to Palestine: both parents were then living in Herzlia.
