Thea came to the Netherlands in December 1938. She lived in many different facilities for refugees before moving in with a family in Amsterdam in May 1940.
Her parents wanted to go to the US. They were living in Darmstadt, Mathildenplatz 9.
Her mother was Selma Heyum, born in 1899 in Köln, her father Ludwig was born in 1892 in Worfelden. Both her parents were killed by the Nazis
