Simon came to the Netherlands in January 1939. In February 1940 he moved to Camp Westerbork. Simon was a cabinet maker.
His father had been evicted to Poland in the fall of 1938: his mother was still in Berlin. They wanted to emigrate to Palestine, but did not have a certificate, nor did they have the financial means for the trip.
His mother was Netty Unger, born in 1887 in Zabiw: his father's name was Jakob, he was born in 1882 in Dombrowa.
