Frieda emigrated from Duisburg, Germany to Holland in 1938. The family lived in Duisburg at Universitätsstr. 38. Her mother Scheindel (birth date and birth name unknown) died in Duisburg on 24.02.1938. Her father Berl Goldberg (20.07.1891), a grocer by profession, was forcibly removed to Rudnik, Poland on 22.10.1938. He perished in the Shoah. Her brothers Philipp (1920*) and Paul (1927*) were also forced out of Germany to Poland in 1938, but managed to emigrate in 1939 to London, where they still lived in 1966. Her sister Ida Getter (1923*) survived Westerbork and Auschwitz and was liberated in Bergen-Belsen. (Geschichte der Duisburger Juden, Roden/Vogedas, Walter Braun Verlag 1986)
