Jakob Mot was the son of Mozes Mot and Sientje Brandon. He married Rachel Augurkiesman in 1916. Together they had three children. Their first child died when he was five years old. Rachel Augurkiesman died in 1938. Jacob remarried with Esther Pimentel on 4 February 1942.
