Isidor Zeehandelaar studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 29 June 1912. He lived and practised medicine as a family doctor at 60 Koninginneweg in Amsterdam and had another practice at 20 Oosteinde. Isidor Zeehandelaar was married to Sara van der Kous. The couple had a daughter called Sara.
Isidor Zeehandelaar was arrested by the Gestapo in November 1940 and taken to the prison at the Weteringschans. Then, he was transferred to the Detention centre at the Amstelveenscheweg. From there, he ended up in Amersfoort and from Amersfoort he was deported to Oranienburg.
