Lina Katz was the daughter of Mendel Katz and Rieka Heilbronn. She was married to Mozes Aäron de Jonge, the son of Jakob de Jonge and Lena Wolf. Mozes Aäron de Jonge died in 1927.

Lina de Jonge-Katz was the widow of Mozes Aäron de Jonge, who had died in 1927. The couple had six children, of whom Jacob Izaäk, Izak, Felix, Leentje and Sara were killed in Auschwitz. Two other children, Rieka and Mendel had died before the war. The family lived at 84 Hoofdstraat in Ter Apel.
