Henri Willem Goudsmit gave in 1942 a complete silver cutlery to a friend in Roermond for safekeeping. When the inhabitants of Roermond were evacuated in 1944, this friend has taken the cutlery and has hidden it under the floor of his house. Two pieces were taken from the cutlery for emergency cases. When this friend came back in Roermond, it showed up that the house was looted and the cutlery had disappeared. Only the two pieces that had been taken with, remained.
