Nehemia de Bruin was the son of Nathan de Bruin and Sara Kisch. He married in 1898 to Sybilla Bachrach, daughter of Eliaser Bachrach and Naatje Bachra.

In totaal kreeg dit echtpaar tien kinderen, Nathan de Bruin, Sara van der Kloot-de Bruin, Eliaser de Bruin en Susanna Swaab-de Bruin. Drie kinderen zijn doodgeboren of hebben slechts enkele dagen geleefd. Eén kind heeft de oorlog overleefd. De overige twee hebben waarschijnlijk de oorlog overleefd.
The couple had ten children. Nathan de Bruin, Sara van der Kloot-de Bruin, Eliaser de Bruin en Susanna Swaab-de Bruin. Three others were either born dead or lived just a few days. One child survived the war. Two others probably survived the war.

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.
