The Speier Holstein family originally lived at the Goudsche Singel 216 in Rotterdam. Aron Speier Holstein had a drugstore annex perfumery at the Lange Pannenkoekstraat 30. Both buildings were destroyed and burnt down during the bombardment of Rotterdam in May 1940. Aron had permanent severe injuries caused by the bombardment and was taken to the Van Iterson Hospital in Gouda. Aron settled in June 1942 in Waddinxveen. Irma Speier Holstein and Alfred Leo Speier Holstein lived there since August 1941. Aron Speier Holstein died in Westerbork.
