Hertog de Lange was married to Sara Zette van der Hoek. The couple had three children: Roosje Henriette Sophie, Salomon Mozes and Jetje Sophie. The family lived at 1 Bouweind in Ommen. Salomon van der Hoek, Sara Zette van der Hoek's father, lived with them. Hertog de Lange was a cattle dealer. He was at one of the Jewish labour camps, De Witte Pael in St. Johannesga. On 2 October 1942 he was transferred to Camp Westerbork, where his family joined him the next day.
