Louis van Coevorden was the son of Mozes van Coevorden and Wilhelmina de Jonge. He married Rechel van Dam in Groningen on September 4, 1916. She was the daughter of Izak van Dam and Betje van der Wijk. Louis and Rechel had three children: Wilhelmina (also known as Betje), Izak (who died at a young age) and Mozes.
