Filippus Dalsheim married Vrouwkje Stern on 16 May 1922. Vrouwkje Stern was raised in the home of her uncle David Stern. Filippus Dalsheim was a cattle dealer. The couple had four children, all born in Borger: two daughters, Lina (born in 1923) and Jacoba (born in 1924), and two sons, Herman (1927) and Berthold (1929).
Vrouwkje was fully integrated in Borger community life. She was an active member of the Advendo netball club. She later joined the Borger drama society, where she was cast in various roles. In the 1930s she was also a member of the Aurora choral society and of the Borger chapter of the League of Dutch Rural Women.
