Ernst Heilbut was the son of Harrij Heilbut and Rebecca Judith Adler. He married Flora Kalker, daughter of Emanuel Kalker and Sophia Jeanette van Meekern. One of their children, Robert Emanuel, was married. His wife survived the war.
