Israël (sometimes spelled as Izrael) Splitter originated from Poland. When the war broke out, he was in the Netherlands with his wife and child. Israël Splitter hid a few items of jewellery with acquaintances in The Hague. When their houses were searched, those items of jewellery were found. The wife of Israël Splitter survived the war.
The archive of the Stichting Sieraden-Comité contains, among other things, a list of stolen items of jewellery and a declaration under oath.
