In April 1943 all Jews in Winterswijk got the message that they should report to Vught concentration camp. Mother and daughter Poppers then had a drapery shop in the Meddosestraat. On the day of departure Betti Poppers has made a picture of herself and her mother. She told the photographer, she would come to get the picture as soon as they had come back.
