In 1924 the De Bruin family moved from Spanjaardslaan12 to Paul Krugerstraat 39. A brother of Aron, Jonas de Buin, lived with his family at Peperstraat. Aron de Bruin and his wife gave their children a liberal Jewish education. At Wednesday afternoon the children went to Hebrew lessons in the Jewish school. In the war Aron de Bruin made a hole in the shed behind his house through which one could escape to the garden of the neighbours.
