The mayor of Naarden requested that Elisabeth Gross-Maijer and her daughter Eva Jeannette Gross, residing in Naarden, be located, detained and brought to trial. They were suspected of having changed their place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding. They were believed to be holding aliens' passports issued by the Commissioner of South Holland, numbered 16157 and 15366.

We have been unable to determine whether one or more members of this family survived the war. While their names do not appear on the lists of survivors, we have not been able to trace them in In Memoriam either. They are therefore labeled as 'surviving' and their names are not listed.
