Julius Gesinus de Haas and his family

Julius Gesinus de Haas was married to Betje Cohen. The couple had four children. The family lived at Number 487, District IV, in Vriezenveen. Julius Gesinus de Haas owned a draperies shop there.

In September 1942 the mayor of Vriezenveen requested that Julius Gesinus de Haas and his wife Betje Cohen be located, detained and brought to trial. They had left their place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.

On the way to going into hiding Julius Gesinus de Haas and his wife were caught at the station in Apeldoorn. Their four children survived the war.
