The father of Kurt Adolf Roeders changed his name from Rosenbaum to Roeders, long before the war. After his studies Kurt Roeders started working for Adolf Rosenbaum & Sohn and later became co-owner. He married Liselotte M.F.Selinko, whose family originated from Hungary. The couple fled in 1938 from Germany to Haarlem, where their daughter Antoinette Elizabeth was born in 1940. They were arrested by the SD in August 1944 and deported to Theresienstadt via Westerbork. On 28 October 1944 they were deported to Auschwitz, where mother and daughter were murdered in the gass chambers. Kurt Roeders was forced to do labour and died in the winter of 44/45 in Auschwitz.
