The husband of Sophia de Metz ended his own life when their two children were still very young. From that time onwards she sacrificed herself completely to raise her children well. During the war she could not be convinced to go into hiding. She thought it was too dangerous. Her two children survived the war.

Sophia van Norden-de Metz decided to take her chance during the war and not go into hiding. Some neighbors offered their assistance. She was presumably betrayed by other neighbors and was deported.
