Hijman Nathan Prins was the third child of Abraham Prins and Grietje Levitus. He was a sales representative. In The Hague he met Maria Barendse, daughter of Salomon Barendse and Betje Park. Their son Salomon was born on 24 May 1934. Hijman Nathan Prins and Maria Barendse were married in The Hague on 6 April 1938. They also had a daughter, Grietje.
On 11 December 1942 the family was removed from their home and transported to Westerbork via the Hollandsche Schouwburg, from where they were deported to Auschwitz on 18 January 1943.
