Gerzon Salomon de Leeuw was the son of Salomon de Leeuw and Betje Cohen. Gerzon Salomon settled in Amsterdam in 1887. In 1889 he married Estelle van Gelder, the daughter of Hartog van Gelder and Henriette Hackenbroch, in Amsterdam. They had five children. Their son Louis died in 1913, three children moved abroad before the war, and Maurits died in the war.
Gerzon Salomon was a merchant. In 1896 he took over and carried on the firm of S. de Leeuw.
