Samuël Swaap was a son of Wolf Swaap and Rachel Heertje. He had three children.

Margaretha Loopuit, wife of Samuël Swaap,survived and emigrated to the USA in 1946. Their oldest daughter survived too, Ella Gracia Swaap (Effros), 1917-2021.
In addition, Jokos files (numbers 5699, 52291) on this family or other family members are at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos files reveal that a claim was lodged for compensation for :
- looted diamonds (D-claim, number A18)
- valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claims, numbers 11769/4517/22039, 11770/7342)
