Samuel Lewkowitz was married to Rosa Goldstein. The couple had five children. In January 1939 the couple fled to the Netherlands, together with their youngest son Jakob. They first resided at the hotel of the Holland-Amerika Line in Rotterdam. Rosa Goldstein died later that year in Amsterdam.
