Saartje Blok was Jozeph Blok's sister. They came from a big family of which most children died at a young age. Their parents were Hartog Blok, who died on the first of October 1915 in Lemsterland, and Naatje Schrijver, who died on November 2, 1917 in Lemsterland. Saartje was shortsighted and hardly ever came outdoors.
Dutch police officers picked up Jozeph and his sister on April 29th, 1942. They were deported via Westerbork concentration camp.
