About Hans Joachim Engelbert

The mayor of Loosdrecht requested that Hans Joachim Engelbert, who had violated regulations by changing his place of residence without authorization, be located, detained and brought to trial. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding. He resided in Loosdrecht.
Hans Joachim Engelbert arrived in the Netherlands as a German refugee on 5 January 1939. He lived at various assembly points of Palestine Pioneers (Eindhoven and Driebergen). From 27 September 1940 until 7 December 1942 he was a ward at the Paviljoen Loosdrechtse Rade youth aliyah home in Loosdrecht. Afterwards he returned to his parents, who lived in Amsterdam.
