Esra Jurovics was a ward at the youth aliyah home in Loosdrecht, the Paviljoen Loosdrechtse Rade, from 10 January 1942 until 7 December 1942. He was fluent in Hebrew and studied Tenakh.
Prior to the deportation of the pavilion around 15th august 1942 he went into hiding with Bouke Koning in Friesland. He left his hiding place in october 1942 to try to escape to Switzerland together with seven other Palestine Pioneers (Siegbert Leo Adler, Bernard Aschheim, Robert Jozef Dürheim, Juda Pinkhof, Lilli Kellner, Fabian Schön and Jossel Waldmann). They were caught at the Belgian border.
