Algemeen Politieblad, nr 33, 20 August 1942, 948, notice 1565
Joseph Straus studied Law and Economics at the university of Utrecht. In October 1939 he became a member of student organisation Unitas, which he left again in September 1940. In 1939 he also became a student of economy at the University of Amsterdam, where he studied until 1941. He was arrested by the GFP/SD on 30 June 1942 near Dijon in France. After that nothing is known. He most likely was either shot, what happened often in such cases, or deported from France to eastern Europe.
