Mozes Richard Nol was a son of Hijman Nol and Anna Nol-Dupont. His mother lived at the Apeldoornsche Bos. Richard was a pupil at the First Montessorischool in Amsterdam.

Richard produced drawings from models. He tried to escape to England but was arrested in IJmuiden on 18 May 1942. He was taken to the convict prison at Scheveningen and sent from there to the Groot Seminarie Haaren, the prison on the Gansstraat in Utrecht, from where he was deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork.
