Maaike Cohen was a daughter of Benjamin and Mietje Cohen. She married Abraham de Jong on 14 October 1891 in Amsterdam, a son of Hartog de Jong and Hanna Rijksman. The couple had eleven children of whom Hartog, Marianne, Benjamin, Jacob, Anna, Wolf, Karel, Rosa and Esther have been killed during the Holocaust. Two sons, Emanuel and Bernard have survived the war.
Abraham de Jong passed away on 11 May 1932, 60 years old.
