About Meijer Marcus Meijers

Meijer Marcus Meijers was a reserve officer at the artillery before he served as a pharmacist. On 1 January 1935 he was appointed to be reserve second lieutenant at the section 4 RVA. Four years later, on 1 January 1939, he became reserve first lieutenant.
Meijer Marcus Meijers is mentioned in the memorial windows of the officers’ mess of the Artilleryrange in ‘t Harde.

Meijer Marcus Meijers was unmarried. He held a PhD degree in mathematics and physics. He was a pharmacist and served as a military pharmacist during the mobilization. He produced Carma, a surrogate tea.
On 21 March 1942 he was caught in Rotterdam trying to cross the Channel to England. He was sent via the Haagse Veer police station in Rotterdam to the house of detention on the Weteringschans in Amsterdam.
On 15 August 1942 Meijer Marcus Meijers was executed on the Crailo shooting range in Laren.
