Lion Heijmans was a son of Esegiel Heijmans and Geertrui Hofman. He married in Weesp on 5 June 1894 to Lea de Miranda, daughter of David de Miranda and Judith Querido. Lea passed away on 15 November 1932. The couple had six children, of whom Debora and Judith have died already in childhood, Alida has survived the Holocaust but not Ezechiel David, David and Eshter.
