Izaak Slager was married to Sara de Jong. The couple had three sons: Philip, Simon and Leo who died before the war, like Sara Slager-de Jong.
Izaak Slager had a butcher shop at 15 Scholestraat in Steenwijk. The butcher shop was taken over by his son Simon. After the death of his wife in 1930, Izaak went to live with his son Simon's family. The family went into hiding in The Hague. Izaak Slager was caught in August 1944 and deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork.
