Marcus Polak was a son of Hartog Polak and Esther Polak-de Levie. He married in 1930 in Hengelo. This marriage was dissolved in 1936.

According to the death records of camp Sachsenhausen Marcus Polak died on 18 January 1945. It is possible this date is different from the official day of death as established after the war by the Department of Justice.
