Saartje Michelson was a daughter of Mendel Arie Michelson and Eva Schrijver. She married 23 May 1923 in Amsterdam to Simon de Jong, a son of Izaak de Jong and Elisabeth Drukker. The couple had five children.
Saartje self was born in a family with seven children. Two
brothers have died as babies and one brother has survived the Holocaust. The others, Michael, Hartog and Juda, have been killed all in the Shoah.
