Arthur Frank was a student at the Public Olympiaschool on the Stadionkade in Amsterdam. A former classmate remembers a story of when the teacher was about to retire. The children wanted to give her a going-away present and Arthur was appointed treasurer to collect the small change the children rounded up. It was his idea to add little notes saying which child gave what amount. The parents were not pleased.
