Mina Lisser was a daughter of David Lisser and Rosa de Hond. 21 March 1928 she married Samson Overste in Amsterdam, a son of Meijer Overste and Judith Rootveld. In that year, 21 October 1928, their daughter Rika was born.
The family lived at Smitstraat 12 1st floor in Amsterdam from where they were fetched out of their house, deported to Westerbork and locked in at barack 63. The family was previously exempted from deportation because of function. Mina Lisser used to be a “machine knitter” and her husband Samson Overste was a vendor of haberdasheries at the Jewish street market at Joubertstraat in the East-Amsterdam. The registration cards made out by the Jewish Council of Amsterdam doesn’t show the reason why the family was exempted from deportation but it looks like they had this desirable exception already up from 30 July 1942.
1 June 1943 the Samson Overste family was put on transport to Sobibor and on arrival there 4 June 1943, Mina Overste-Lisser, her husband Samson Overste and daughter Rika Overste have been immediately killed.
City Archive of Amsterdam, archive card of David Lisser and Samson Overste; website Het Geheugen van Oost/De Joodse Markt, (only available in the Dutch language) and the file cabinet of the Jewish Council, registration cards of Mina Overste-Lisser, Samson Overste and Rika Overste.
