Samuel Swaab, a son of Joseph Swaab and Jetje Berkhof, married 10 June 1936 to Martha Moffie, a daughter of Abraham Moffie and Sarah Sealtiel. The couple had a son in 1942, who has survived the Holocaust.
His siblings who also have been killed durig the Holocaust were Benedictus, Hartog, Mozes, Sientje, Anna, Aaron, and Heintje.

At first Samuel Swaab worked for a tobacco dealer. In 1939 he was a bicycle repairman assistant for Salomons on the Oudeschans.
