Sophia Voorzanger was a daughter of Mozes Voorzanger and Regina Polak. She married 6 April 1911 in Amsterdam to Leman Lakmaker, a son of Gerrit Lakmaker and Sara Groen.
The couple had three children; one son survived the war; a daughter passed away in 1939 and their son Leman Bert was killed during the Holocaust.
Sophia was born in a family of six children. Her brother Leman moved to Antwerp in 1908. Her sister Duifje and her brothers Jacob, Bernard and Simon have been killed during the Holocaust.
