Francisca van Oss came from a large family and had more than ten brothers and sisters. Her eldest brother was one of the founders of the weekly magazine De Haagsche Post.
Francisca van Oss did not go into hiding; she saw this as something that only young people should do. She poisoned herself during a raid in The Hague. She was discovered and taken to the Red Cross hospital. As soon as she had recovered sufficiently, Francisca van Oss was transported to a camp by way of Westerbork.
