Maurits Blom was a son of Mozes Blom (born 1856) and Sophia van Praag (1852-1917). His father, the families of his brother Nathan (born 1878) and married sisters Naatje (Tokkie-)Blom and Kaatje (Ossendrijver-)Blom also were murdered.

Maurits Blom, (son of Mozes Blom and Sophia van Praag) and Betje Hakker (daughter of Salomon Hakker and Rachel van der Kloot), married in Den Haag on 26 June 1912 and had four children. Onle one of them survived the Holocaust. The others, none of them lived at home with their parents anymore, were all killed. It were their daughter Sophia (born 1914) who lived in Den Haag with her husband Louis Joel Fresco and their three children; son Salomon, (born 1915) and daughter Roza, also known as Rosa and born 1922) who was married to Emanuel Zwaab.
