Sientje van Straten was a daughter of Hartog van Straten and Saartje Gompers. She came from a family of ten children. One of her brothers was among others Jacob van Straten.
Sientje's first marriage was with Samuel Snijtselaar who passed away in November 1908 in Anderlecht (B).
They had 5 children together:
Maurice (Luik 04-8-1894),
Henri (Luik 09-3-1892 / 03-5-1892)
Sara (Anderlecht 14-11-1899 (she survived the Holocaust)
Arthur (Luik 21-6-1893 / Maastricht 13-3-1917)
Jacobus Snijtselaar and Henri.
Later Sientje married again to Mozes van Praag, born in Amsterdam, who died in Den Haag on 22 July 1941.
Sientje lived as a widow together with her sister Betje in Den Haag with also her son Henri, and previously in Rotterdam and Anderlecht (B).
