Besides his regular profession Leibisch Bodnar also was a commercial agent for 'de Haan's Matzefabriek' in the Valkenburgerstraat. In the weeks before Pesach he visited the customers and took their orders which were payed in cash at de Haan. De Haan delivered the famous 'round boxes' for his clients. Leibisch Bodnar was a learned man, a product of an eastern Jewish education.
